Flower lace doily

This is the largest design I  attempted so far. It took almost a month to complete. I started working on it on December first week when my hubby was starting off for another official tour , thinking I can complete it before he returns . But it took me ages to complete it and finally Christmas was approaching and I wanted to complete it before that as we were planning on a long trip to CA . So I did not want a break in this work . On the previous night of Christmas I managed to complete it  and was proud looking at it. It was huge and reflected my peak of patience.

Bud Doily

As I had gifted my snowflake doily I wanted to keep one for myself. So I selected another color and did one more in the same pattern. But as the color changed this had the blooming bud look  hence  I named it so. Its for me!

Wavy doily

This is another pattern which I saw in a book nd wanted to try it. It was pretty easy as the pattern went on same way in all the rounds with just some monor changes. So even without much concentration I could do it as after the center design it is a monotonous design. So I thought I would give it a different color border just to make it more impressive in the first glance. It has a slightly wavy edge which is the main attraction of the design.

Embroidery

After doing lot of crochets I thought of doing something different. There was one spot in our house which was left undecorated and I thought I would fill it up with my own work. So this embroidery started. It is infact the quick stitch kit we get in India . I had bought it long back thinking I would do it if I really feel like it.So when my hubby was off on another tour I started this and finished it by the time he returned, He liked it and framed it himself.

The Snowflake doily

This was done for another close friend of mine. She was a very dear friend who had been by my side when I was sick and when I needed company. so when she was leaving it was very tough for me. I wanted to gift her something really worth all the help she had done for me. She is a good cook , a good artist and a good home maker.I was confused what to get for her when finally the idea clicked in me to do something and gift. I was sure it would surprise her and  I was also confident that she would treat it precious and keep it with her. So I selected this design and finished it with a light shade that will go with almost all the furniture or fabrics. I gifted it to her on the previous day of her leaving and was happy that she genuinely liked it.
When I started it I did not know what to name but some of my friends who saw it asked whether I meant a snowflake as it was wintertime when I did this. So I got the idea and named it Snowflake.

The Twister doily

This is my all time favorite . It was the first large one I did following instructions. When I saw the pattern I got the intuition that it would come good . It took long hours to complete and I had to put my head into it for all the calculations and countings. It was a complicate design once started but there was no coming back , so I completed it. When each round looked good and better than the previous I got more interest and completed the pattern succesfully. My mom liked it very much so when we visited India last time I gifted it to her .

Tea coaster

This is a cute and sweet work I have done so far. In fact I was trying out some new stitches and thought a small pattern would do the trick. So I selected a small sized design from a crochet pattern book. It was fun doing it as I was learning some stitches and at the same time looking for perfection too.  I did not get the exact color combination in the pattern but tried with my own colors which I had in stock. But I liked the cute look when it was finished.
